Negative attitudes weigh an awful lot.
Negative attitudes weigh much more than positive ones. They weigh more, which means they take a lot more energy to carry around. Here's one way to think about it: Imagine you just won a free ride in an air balloon. Barring that you are not afraid of heights- this is an opportunity of a lifetime. One that fills you with great excitement. You are not the only one on the flight, however, and there are a few who are not nearly as excited as you are. In fact, they would rather be doing anything else. Now, the air has filled the balloon and you are ready for take off. You are in the basket and the others are holding on to the ropes. These individuals have the power to keep you from reaching the sky...unless you take the power back. You can cut the ropes or you can convince them that this is an opportunity of a lifetime and enourage them to shed the weight and get in the basket. The moral of the story: You don't have to let other people's attitudes weigh you down! |
