It's my tagline...now what does it mean?
I am not sure that my business name and tagline need explaining, but I am going to do it anyway. I need the practice writing in this here blog and this is today's little lesson. Contagious Energy- Positively Powerful. Contagious Energy is that fabulous energy that I claim to have at any given time. It is also very contagious, because I tend to infect others with it. That may sound a bit like an epidemic, until you add in the energy. Don't worry, it is all good. I am high energy and try to spread that energy around in everything I do, from work to play, with family, friends, and fellow professionals. In fact, the other day I called a potential client and I introduced myself as Samantha from Contagious Energy and her immediate reaction was that I sound like I have contagious energy. That was just from introducing myself! The name really fits, if I do say so myself. I have had this name picked out for a business for over three years and my friend Sondra Murphy designed the original logo over two years ago. The name came out of the idea that I think it is important for lots of people to have a positive attitude, and that it can be "catchy." I just wasn't sure how the business would come to life until now. So, here we are at the tagline- "Positively Powerful". If you have a positive attitude and use it to reach your goals, then you have a lot of power behind what you are trying to accomplish. Now, negative attitudes can also spread quickly, but they are far more destructive than productive. Can you think of a time when negativity got a group to solve a problem or to feel good about a meeting. Doesn't happen! It doesn't happen because the individuals get so mired down with thinking the worst of things that they simply can't see the forest for the trees. Now, if they opened their minds just a bit and sought out one posisible solution to the problem. They put one smile on their face and spoke to one another in a more positive tone, the dynamic would change and the wheels of productivity would start moving. It only takes one person to start the positively powerful train moving. The moral of this story is that when you see a train off it's track ( a friend, colleague, board, etc.) take a minute to see how you might help get it back on. Sometimes all it takes is a smile and an offer to help. At the very least, try to point out one positive thing....it may lead to others and pretty soon the train is not only on the track but is starting to chug forward. I had no idea that a train analogy would come out of this, but really, you have the ability to get a positively powerful train moving and even picking up passengers al along the tracks. That is my intention anyway. For those who don't have it in you on a given day, remember what my mom always used to say: "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all." Thanks for reading. Have a Fabulous Day! |
